Re: Laptop turned evil
if you have access to DART which is the disaster and recover toolkit from Microsoft included in the MDOP (Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack) then yes. If you have the original OS disks or recovery disks you can boot to those as well and do a repair. This is when you tell us you didn't make backup recovery disks and you don't have your original OS disks right? That is not the biggest issue, I can get you a link to pretty much any Microsoft OS, I can't get you a serial key though so hopefully you have yours or its on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop?
If you have your serial key and OS disk just do a clean install, it will save you time
If by your lucky starts you live in or new Phoenix Arizona I may let you get away with using my licensed copy of DART to fix it...if you ask nicely and live closeLast edited by Phyrelight; 05-14-15 at 03:19 PM.

Yes I do have the key on the bottom of the laptop my dad did manage to leave that. Windows 7 is what is on there.. 64 bit I believe. No idea where the recovery / backup disks would be. Still going through all of his belongings and finding things.

Re: Laptop turned evil
The product key you entered appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.

Re: Laptop turned evil
you have OEM license which means you are not entitled to access the software from Microsoft, go to Toshiba and they should give you an option to obtain recovery disks. Usually they have a download but they may also have the option to charge you and then ship you the media.
Same process as before but through Toshiba, go hereLast edited by Phyrelight; 05-15-15 at 08:48 AM.
