    Laptop turned evil

My Toshiba Qosimo has run quite well for nearly a year. I am now experiencing a problem.

    Qosimo x770 Intel core i7 2670. 8gigs of ram 64 bit windows 7 pro

    Games just crash randomly.

Dxdiag won't work either. This also effects other programs as well.

    C:\windows\system32\dxdiag.exe

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 or x64 version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

This ONLY became an issue recently. Can't recall exactly when, but something had to change to cause this issue.

Could I possibly just upgrade my OS and it not delete everything?

    Re: Laptop turned evil

You should NEVER "upgrade" your OS..you should always do a fresh install on a newly formatted drive. You can use windows easy transfer tool to move your profile and data to a flash drive or external media then install the new OS and run it again to move your stuff back. Its built into windows 7 and later just hit start and type "easy" and you will see it

    Re: Laptop turned evil

I've done OS upgrades before without any problems. But if you are having issues then ABSOLUTELY do not run an upgrade. Otherwise problems will just likely carry over into the new OS.

AAAAH Now it wont let me log in.. An image is missing and it just keeps giving me the same message.

Is there a disk I can make or anything so I can put it in and basically say "go fix the things that are broken" without a total reinstall?
