Malwarebytes (even the paid version) isn't a replacement for an AV. It's more: shit's gone wrong. Use them together, but preferably get something better than defender. For a free W10 option, I'm currently liking Avast.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Re: Windows 10 help
Defender is microsoft's included virus protection. It has gone through several iterations including microsoft security essentials and forefront. We use the Enterprise version (forefront) at our university with great success.
The real weakness of virus protection is people don't keep it up to date. Defender and the other built in ones I mentioned get updated automatically through windows updates.
Since we push updates via a WSUS and SCCM we can force their virus protection to be up to date daily, you can't necessarily do that with a 3rd party application.

Re: Windows 10 help
So far, W10 has been great. Now I just need Nvidia to get some drivers going so I can fire up gpu#2 again. There was an update yesterday, but no dice.....DirectX Error within 10 minutes of starting BF4. Back to a single 770.
Also, my wireless G930 headset likes to turn itself off every 10 minutes or so if I don't have the usb charging cable plugged into them. Me thinks Logitech could also use a driver update.
Other than those two issues, W10 has been flawless on both of my desktops, and my old craptop runs like a top with it.Phyrelight liked this post

Re: Windows 10 help
My laptop is screaming fast now with W10 and its battery lasts way longer even playing WoW and CS:GO.
Still holding off on my main rig until the end of the year when driver issues and patches fix most glaring bugs and hitches.

I upgraded on my work laptop and everything seems to be going fine. Visual studio and a few other IDEs were my main concern but no issues in that department, everything's fine and my battery life is longer.
I'm gonna try and upgrade my main maybe this weekend, we shall see
