I've fixed a good number of my issues:
Here's some common issues I found along the way.
- open up xbox app that comes pre-installed with win10 and disable DVR streaming or whatever the setting is called; I think you might be able to disable the app entirely from there. Just disable all that crap, it's all b.s. anyways. Myself and many others online experienced performance increases after doing so. There's a bunch of Cortana b.s. you can disable too that has helped some people online.
- access your services "run.exe" -> "services.msc" and go down to the nVidia services. Right click on "NVIDIA Streamer Service" and disable that shit. Do it for "NVIDIA Network Streamer Service" as well. These 2 services are for the in-home streaming to your NVIDIA shield devices, but they were the source of major stuttering issues for me. If you don't have a shield and you experience stuttering, check that out.
There's tons of other things I've had to do as well, thought most of them are specific to my setup. The thing I'm still working on now is getting my mic to work in-game (doesn't work in any games). It works fine for skype, mumble, and other voip clients and is even recognized in-game in the mic setup, but the games are just unable to transmit. Makes no sense, I've tried everything for weeks now. Most of the fixes people have been using online work for most people but don't work for me. Heavy and Pote had similar issues recently and were able to resolve their issues. I'm gonna keep digging around, that's the last large issue I'm working on fixing right now, other than that I've got my Win10 machine running well.

I've not used Microsoft Edge much, but one thing I will say about it, it has a very nice PDF reader.
Given that pretty much nothing uses dx12 yet and most manufacturers are racing to get all their drivers and stuff squared away - I haven't experienced any remarkable gains or useful features that I didn't already have before, but the ux is nice. I think a few more months, some dx12 releases and patch-ins, and some better driver support and it will be a solid OS.

I think the biggest thing I've noticed is how much easier it is to run older games.
Edge is also nice. I think it can use Chrome extensions, but I'm not sure how well that works. I like the reading list feature. Nothing enough to make me switch though.enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Any change to the cpu, ram, hard drive or motherboard CAN but doesn't 100% trigger the "it's not the same computer police". It's annoying but understandable.

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade ...
The microphone thing isn't always Windows. Steam actually has a microphone problem in the current build and I had to go to the beta build to get rid of the problem. It solved it for me so maybe give that a try.

Ughhhhh, finally found the fix and it's so stupid that this was the problem.
If you run a beta version of GeForce experience, you have to disable "share" or else it interferes with Steam voice. I don't know if the fault of the conflict lies solely with GeForce experience or if it's a problem with Steam (it's probably steam, given what Rumble was saying), but in either case, disabling "share" fixed it for me. I haven't verified if you can have "share" enabled if you are running a non-beta version of GeForce experience, so that might be an alternative solution.
I didn't even know "share" was enabled at all. I never do any recording or streaming so I never mess with any of those settings to begin with. I tried everything from trying all manner of driver manipulation, bios level hardware setting modifications, trying different headsets, trying different driver and audio software versions, re-installing the games I was having problems with, re-installing steam, even removing my discrete audio card entirely...and GeForce Experience ended up being the culprit
Ah well, guess I can't blame this one on Windows 10 - I'm just happy I have voip in-game again and can play ranked CSGO now.

Re: Windows 10 Upgrade ...
I've upgraded a few computers and did a clean install of one. I'm having an issue with my second clean install. It's supposed to be a Windows 10 Pro version but the Media Creation Tool is only offering me Windows 10. I read on one website (how to geek) that this is where you select which edition of Windows 10 you want installation media files for. Has anybody else come across this issue?
