    Re: Building a new rig

I went with the msi geforce gtx970. Its not a 6 or 700 dollar card but it seems to be a pretty good card. Of which i just finished installing it as well as a few more fans. I have a 4 more spots a can put fans i think i went ahead and ordered those as well as an amd fx8350. I noticed my cpu fan didnt start turning until i flicked it so what the hell might as well replace the whole package.

Well finally done and should handle the new game with ease. FX 8350 processor, 970 card, and 6 new fans cooling the box 2 push and 4 pulls. All i need to do now is go buy some new zip ties because it looks like a fucking mess around here now.

My motherboard has been amd for the last 4 years. I got cheap and did not upgrade the board.

Well that's a valid reason I suppose. Just painful to see someone get an AMD chip in the one time in their history where it's the least beneficial to do so.

Yeah well the board i was going to buy was 500 bucks. I decided to check my system versus whats required and my old chip was a bit above the minimum. So i said fuck it and left the old board and spent 170 on the chip. Now i exceed the recommended and saved like 900 bucks on the board and intel chip. My board at this point is maxed out so theres no more upgrading.
