    What, exactly, did Smart Scan flag as an issue? If it identified programs or add-ins that need to be updated, then that's something CCleaner will not address. Since I don't use Avast, I really can't offer an opinion on the functionality of its Smart Scan. I will say that many such programs exaggerate the "performance" aspect of the "issues" they report.

    Well, seeing as I don't have the paid version of Avast Cleaner, it gives me limited info, but for example, I just ran CCleaner and then ran Avast Smart Scan and it says I have performance issues caused by 5 system settings, 146 MB of junk files, and 54 unnecessary apps, lol.

    I'd stick with CCleaner.
