Yeah, and the gsync/freesync debate is still pretty niche at this point as it's mostly early adopters up until now. I love my gsync 144hz monitor and it's greatly improved my gaming experience for csgo and fast paced games but I think the gpu itself is more the necessity right now and the monitor is just icing on the cake. I think as the technology becomes more widespread the gpu/monitor combo purchase will be another price balancing act but for the time being, putting as much into the best gpu per buck is where the greatest increase still lies for most people it would seem.
I've got a 970 in my portable rig and 2 980s in my main and while I've been team green for a long time, I completely agree with Heavy that that 960 has worn out its welcome at that price range.
I think that 380x was the wise purchase in this case.Phyrelight liked this post

I think nVidia should have dropped the 960 in price by now and the 970 should be the new $200 price point card for their line.
nVidia and AMD have a bad habit of holding high prices longer than is necessary.
