    No GUI

Ok so I'm building up this PC for my sister cause her old HP wasn't working anymore. I'm using some of my old parts to fill in the spaces and upgrade what she has a bit. When I boot up the win7 disk it boots up properly, but when it loads the GUI menu isn't there so I can't start the installation or anything.

    Any ideas?

I think you can hit F8 during setup to launch a command prompt window and noodle around to see what it can see. First thoughts would be hardware settings like SATA mode for the HDD in BIOS, maybe reset BIOS to defaults if you haven't already.
