Thread: ccomcast cable box

so i had to renew my service with xfinity and had to get cable with it and now when i try to watch tv picture wont properly format to the screen size i tried comcast costumer support and they are usless google results are only for the HD boxes mine is just a standard one i believe so hoping someone here might have some experience with this

Do you have black lines down each side? Im on TS for a bit if you can get on.

Comcast Cable Box
1.Press the "Menu" button on your Comcast remote control.
2.Use the directional arrow buttons on the Comcast remote to select the "Setup" menu. Press the "OK" button to enter this menu.
3.Use the arrow buttons to select the "HDMI" category. Change the setting that reads "4:3" to "16:9."
4.Use the arrow buttons to select the "SD" category. Set it to "Off."
5.Press the "Exit" button on your remote control to exit the menu. Your Comcast cable box's aspect ratio will now be properly adjusted to match the ratio of your television.

I believe the Comsucks remote has a zoom button on it.....try that depending what the issue is

yep i have neither of those options when i enter the setup only adust screen position not size fuckin comcast

i didnt even want cable tv but it was the only way to lower my bill and yet its still higher ...fucking comcast fucking contracts

I would think you have to have some sort of picture options in the settings menu, either ratio or resolution or both. Your tv should also have video options.

yeah all that seems to show up is screen postion and all my tv does is stretch it out and cuts things off poor quality even for standard deff

What type of TV and model?
