I let the pump run all night, the bubbles didn't move at all. So I added 2-3 drops of Dawn Dish Soap. Now the bubbles are releasing and leaving the loop.

I've got an Antec P182 sitting around. Loved that case, and still have all the bits and parts that came with it. I bought a new power supply for it about 2 months before the motherboard shit the bed and I put the whole thing on a shelf.

    Hmm.

As to the bubbles, I wasn't thinking over night. I was thinking about a month. Unless a big bubble somehow accumulates inside the heat sink, it won't affect cooling.

But Dawn. Yeah. How a dish soap brand ever got so much nerd cred I'll never know, but it sure is good at doing that thing it does.

This is the current level of bubble:

Not too bad, some really tiny ones still on the sides mostly in low turbulent areas.

Here is the modification I had to make to the fan to fit the tubing around/behind it.

Make sure you rock the case back and forth. There are likely pockets of air within the radiator that you will need to bleed out. The only way to do is to replace the air wit fluid. Once the bubbles all come out, you will need to top off the reservoir.

Looks pretty good. The Vardar fans are also great. I have 11 of them in my current case.

After lots of tilting and turning I got what I think is all the bubbles out. The water level from on to off only moves 1mm or so; I assume this means that no air is being compressed in the loop somewhere.

I swapped my original Titan graphics card out of that case and put in my original Titan X as this should be my main system once its together. I put the original titan back into the small carryable computer that I keep in my entertainment center.

I also wired up the componants with power temporarily and booted into windows to check what the temps were. They were 60-65 under load, but I didn't adjust the fan profiles yet. So I went into the bios and set the pump to run 100%, and all the radiator fans to run 100% as well to see how good the temps could be.

With that done I am sitting at 2 degrees C from room temp. and at load am at 50-55 across the i7-3770K's cores. And I know they run hot due to the poor thermal material under the IHS. So pretty good I would say.

Now I just have to wait for Ryzen and it's motherboards to be released. I am liking the looks of the MSI X370 Titanium, but am not sure about MSI as far as bios support years down the line. Mainly I stick to ASUS motherboards, but their Crosshair VI Hero isn't fully featured, I would have to wait for the Crosshair VI Formula from them.

But that brings me to another delay. I blew my budget on the water booling gear. I think I am going to try to sell some camera gear to fund this adventure. Anyone interested in a Canon 7D DSLR?

Well it is with a sad heart that I had this happen.

Through stupidity of my own doing, I scratched my cpu's PCB. And while I thaught it was so minor nothing would happen.... apparently I nicked some leads for the memory controller.

So now two of the four DIMM slots are dead. And I was running 4x4GB sticks, so I am down to 8GB of usable memory. Sigh..... I looked up used 3770K's and they are equal in price to what they were / more expensive.... which I guess makes sense... but DANG IT I AM SO ANGRY WITH MYSELF!!!!

I killed a Z170 motherboard last year by dropping a screwdriver on the motherboard box lid. It slid down and the head landed right in the CPU socket, damaging it to the point of needing a repair from ASRock. I have still yet to send it in for repair, but it will cost me $50 plus shipping. I guess that is better than having to replace the entire board.

Luckily, it is for a motherboard I am not even using (Z170 Mini ITX), but I know the feeling. I preach to others about being careful when working around this stuff, but everyone makes mistakes. We are only human.

As a long overdue update. I have since upgraded to Ryzen.

I also got a new case tonight and am in the middle of installing everything. I had to stop as the radiators are being shipped to me currently:

Re: Rush is jumping feet first into water

Update, I got one of the two radiators (the other will arrive friday).

Ran all the tubing, leak tested

I dyed the fluid from white opaque to a matching color. Though I might need to adjust it slightly once everything mixes and again once I add the second radiator.
