Selling Old PC, Need Help Pricing
So, I am planning on selling my old PC since I am not resuing any parts in the new one.
Its only a year or two old. But I have upgraded it slightly over the last year or so.
I was looking for opinions on price. Serious replies only please. I plan on listing it with the university locally and craigslist.
Side note: I dust constandly, clean parts and keep this rig in mint condition with no overclocking (yeah a waste with the setup but eh) so there are no wear and tear issues. Its in tip top awesome shape.
mobo: ASUS Maximus VII Hero
CPU: intel Core i7 4790K Devils Canyon
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32gb ddr3 1866
PSU: eVGA SuperNova 1300 watt Gold rated
Cooling: NZXT Kraken x61
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
HDD: WD 1TB
Optical: LG Blu-Ray burner
Video: ASUS 980TI Strix
Case: Corsair 540 Air (modded to side on side)
OS: Windows 10 Professional (installed and updated)
Case Extras: 3 Corsair blue led AF fans
So i know i paid close to $3000 when these parts were on sale last year. Today to build it would cost maybe $2700.
I wanted to price it at $1800.
Does that sound like a fair price? Did i miss some reason I should consider selling it for less?
I really would like some opinions please.Last edited by Rumble; 03-13-17 at 12:15 PM.

Man that still seems like a pretty badass PC. I would look at the price of the components on eBay in order to determine what it is actually "worth". Of course, selling a fully assembled PC with a Windows license should cost a bit more, but it should give you a good starting point.
In my experience, I have found it easier to part a rig up than to sell it complete. Most people don't feel comfortable dropping in that much on used stuff, regardless of the quality/care. They want new because new comes with a warranty and return policy if they aren't satisfied.
When you part out a rig, people are mostly looking to get one or two components used because maybe part of theirs malfunctioned, or maybe they are looking to upgrade an i5 to i7 and don't want to upgrade to a new platform. Maybe someone will be looking to go SLI and add another 980ti STRIX.
