Guys, has anyone ever used one of these for an upgrade on an old system? I'm debating using one to deal with an older relative's complaints about a pc being slow she uses to play solitaire... I'd rather buy her a new bloody damned laptop but I'm sure you've all dealt with the refusal to change with some of them.. it's a windows xp model laptop anyway so the lower size from one of these won't be an issue

Probably best to just replace the machine. I don't think you'll be able to get an SSD to work over an old IDE port. My grandma hated change too. Sometimes you just have to force the change and go "THERE! IT'S DONE! USE IT!"
