Dumb speaker/headset question
I want to have my speakers on at the same time as my headset so I can turn the speakers up if I want to for music and stuff and then immediately swap to headset for games and stuff without swapping any plugs around.
is there a way to do this? Surely there must be and I'm retarded for not figuring it out -
Would a USB headset be the only way to accomplish this? My case has front-mounted sound outputs, if my speakers are plugged in the back and headset out the back - what happens?
I could walk up stairs and try it - and I probably will right now, but i thought I'd ask.
Thanks dudes.

I can't remember how, and don't wanna mess with the jacks again, 'cause my mic will screw up. Piece of crap.
But you can do it. Sounds weird to have one ear in the headset hearing music, and then having the other ear listen to the speakers.
You should start with getting a X-FI sound card.

Re: Dumb speaker/headset question
You can get a little switch thing,
I have an older version of this:
<a href=http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-PC-Headset-Speaker-Switch/dp/B000069E1V/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-6063398-6704906?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1183344648&sr=8-1>Plantronics PC Headset Speaker Switch </a>
- It takes a bit of fiddling if your using 5.1 speakers to get the plugs right, but it works great... If I remember right you have to run the rear channel speakers into the soundcard as normal, the front channels through the switch...
I think I got it at bestbuy...
