Omg slippery slope
Ok, lightning struck the house and rocked the world, I got one PC going ok, and I got my router replaced. Well I was replacing the network card in the other PC and after I worked with it, it won't boot. I thought power supply at first because the fans didn't spin up but lights on the MB did turn on, so now I am stumped. I hope it is not the MB but I don't know. Before I replaced the network card the PC booted fine, posted and ran tip top, except everything was Blue. It was like the video card was not drawing red or green. I swapped monitors and confirmed that that was not the problem, and I have not replaced the video card yet.
Any suggestions?

Re: Omg slippery slope
if lighting strikes it depends on the amps volts ect it can jump over surge protectors and if it goes into the network there is a 25% give or take of it taking out the mb cpu ect... check the mother board's capacitors and make sure one or more isn't bulging or blown out and smell for that burn smell of a short if its ok look at the cpu get another mb and try the cpu in there if it works then its the viedo card or the mother board do the same with the video card if you rout out all the culprates the lighting could have wiped out Dos/bios or the north and south bridges depending on what processor you have.

Re: Omg slippery slope
what baffles me is that the PC worked for 2 days after the lightning storm, and it was only after I tried to switch the network card it failed to work. I am leaning towards error on my part for this fact but I really don't know. I will try powersupply tonight.
