    Wireless problem

Well as most of you know I recently built a new rig, so I moved the cable modem (which was on our family computer originally) to my room. I bought a router and a wireless card for the family comp and hooked it all up accordingly. Now, it has worked flawlessly up until yesterday. I unplugged one of cable internet wires from the router to hook up to a gaming console to play online. When I hooked it back up, the internet in my living room stopped working (the living room comp is the one with the wireless card.) My internet for the PC in my room (running off the main line) is working fine. The living room PC however, will not load internet pages. The wireless card is receiving signal (Excellent signal strength), but the browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera) all say they cannot make a connection to the internet. Anyone have any ideas why? And what can I do to fix this.

Reset your router and repair your connection on your PC then the family room.

How are you reseting the routers? By a reset button or puling the power? Also make sure your cable from the modem to the wireless router is secure.

    Re: Wireless problem

Well I reset by doing both..neither worked....My wire from the main modem runs into the router, and I have a separate wire that runs out from the 2nd port to my PC. Also, When I check the wireless properties on the living room PC, it's sending like 8000 or so packets but only recieving 3 (3 single packets not 3000).

unplug the modem too noy just the router, if you modem is new style you may also have to remove the back up battery in order for the modem to fully reset

Tried that already. It isnt the modem. My internet works perfectly fine (and it's running through the router) I'm starting to think that windows isnt allowing something on the living room PC.
