Thread: problems with speakers not working

K, so some of you know I got a new computer. I received it and plugged my headphones into the back of it.... my sound works and the mic works, but thats not the problem.

I unplugged my headphones and plugged in my speakers just like i did on my old comp.... nothing happened. I have a creative surround and the speakers plug into the back of the sub. Also I have a switch and volume control that is mounted on the side of my monitor. I tried to turn that on and it like nothing even happens.... the little led doesnt come on like its not even getting power. Ive tried several different plugins and none of them are working.

I have a creative sub and two speakers that I would like to plug in to my Gigabyte motherboard. the back of the motherboard has 5 different plug in plus one for a mic and I cant seem to get any configuration to work or even turn the speakers on. I believe the motherboard has a built in 7.1 onboard audio.

any ideas any thoughts to help me here

MAke sure the sub is plugged in. It is also your power supply. Also check to see if the sub has a fuse in it and make sure it is not open. It sounds like the speaker system is shot to me if the other two things check out.
