    considering it's a stock cooler, that should be decent. get a temperature monitor and check what it does under load.

    40C under load is perfectly acceptable. The clock throttling trips at 75C on the core 2 if i remember right, so your running well under anything to worry about.

    See if you can load windows, before you told me you couldn&#39;t load window&#39;s because it kept overheating.
