    Music does not loop anymore?

    Hey everyone!

I've recently installed a 'Tank Metalized' theme to replace the original Tank music that plays each time you encounter a Tank ingame.

However, this new theme does not loop (if I'm correct) itself after the duration of the sound file, which is approximately one minute. I then reused the original Tank music, and also found out that it does not loop itself anymore, stopping suddenly when its duration ends. And now, I've realised that none of the music tracks in the game repeat themselves - Witch theme, random environment music, etc.

I've sent this 'Tank Metalized' theme to my friend, but it seems to be working well for him, with the looping and all.

Could someone please tell me what's happening? Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that sound files are required to be a specific bit rate and all that. I think it is like 44,100 and 16 bit. If you replace a file that does not meet the game's criteria, it will not work correctly.

I don't know why it would cause all the looping to stop working. You may end up having to reload the game to get it to work again. Not sure why it works on your buddy's machine but not yours.

I tried doing something similar with another game, and I ended up reinstalling before I could get it to work again.

You could try doing a Verify Integrity via Steam and see if that helps.

Thank you for your reply, Iggy.

I'll try and do what you suggested when I have the time. I've tried using the old Tank music after using the command snd_rebuildaudiocache, but the problem is still there.

Perhaps it is because I actually deleted the old sound files from the 'tank' folder under 'music' before replacing it with the custom Tank music? My friend copied the new sound files into the 'tank' folder and was prompted to replace it, but he never actually deleted the old music. I hope this is not the fatal mistake. o.O
