REally now will like .1 is really going to change things but the 55nm and first to four way GPU performance on Vista is looking nice.

Unangst continued noting that "gaming is expected to grow 80% over the next 5 years" and that Microsoft has shipped "over 60 million units" of its Vista operating system. All of the numbers point to something phenomenal: PC Gaming is alive and well. Recent DFC data projects PC gaming will bring in over $13 billion through 2012. In the short term and long, DX10 is here and will have plenty to fuel the cards that already service the market. Additionally, the future of the market will shift to the new standard and existing hardware will not be able to service indefinitely.
so true there are more gamers now than ever and it will continue to rise.

with a rumored price of around 150$ this card and the 256mb version of the 8800GT are just what the video card market needs! No more needing to recommend a 1950pro or the 7900 to folks that need a mid range card!

No, but 10.1 is just a gimmic. Dont believe the hype.

Not really a gimmick, it's just something you won't be using for a while anyway until developers start to make use of it. It's nice to know your hardware is ready for it whenever the time comes. Still, it's definitely not a reason for buying this, or any other card for at least a few months.

I guess if they're marketing it like that it's definitely a gimmick, haven't read a lot about it so I don't know. :P

10.1 IS a gimmic. Even if the new ATI card can support it, that does not mean it can handle it. DX10.1 is suppost to be just that powerfull, so powerful that modern day cards cant even handle it (even if they do support it).

Really DX10 is kind of a gimmick in my opinion.

Compare the screenshots of 9 vs. 10

*shrug* It dosen't mean I don't want a DX10 card, I just think they are a little useless at the moment. Like a Physx card.
