    Razer Barracuda Headphones

After enough bitching and complaining from my fellow gamers over the past couple of weeks, I need new headphones. Do you have any experience with this Razer model? What are your thoughts? Is it worth the c note?

If Razor makes it, then i'm sure it's a great headset.

    Re: Razer Barracuda Headphones

I had to buy a headset a few weeks ago. Here is my experience.

    * Someone at TTP told me that their Razer headset broke and needed to be held together with tape or something.

    * My Turtle Beach 5.1 headset had hinges that broke. They needed to be held together with gobs of tape.

    * I bought an Altec Lansing headset to replace the Turtle Beach. The Altec Lansing was broke out of the box.

    * I settled for a cheap Logitech. It's durable and sounds better than any other headset I've tried. Even the 5.1s. IMO Logitech is the most bang for the buck in headsets.

I have had Sennheiser's for years now and they work great.
Good sound comfortable a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

That's what I wanted to get, but when I needed it everyone was on backorder.

    I have the Razers....

Extremely good sound, but the adjustable part that fits it on your head broke and I have to keep it in place with electrical tape....

I should note that the bass is awful too....for 100 dollar sound I expected a better bass response.

If you want my full thoughts, just PM me.

i bought a logitech when i first started playing BF2 in march. it was 40$ and i am rough as hell on it. i leave it in the floor, the cord is constanly ran over, and the only wear it has is the ear pieces are starting to crack a little and i just put a little mole skin and havent had any trouble. it sounds great and the mic works fine.

    Re: Razer Barracuda Headphones

I have the Razer Barracuda HP-1 Headphones, they work great. The only thing you have to get use to is that the bass is not very low, and I had to make some minor adjustments in my volume to make up for it; if the sound was set too high when the planes dropped bombs it would start to distort. After making the adjustments and getting use to the fact of not having very low bass, its great. I figure I do not need bass to play games only when I want to listen to music anyways so it all works out in the end.

You might also want to check out Turtle Beach's Ear Force HPA2, and as SI42 said; Sennheiser brand is also really good. The only thing I would recommend in choosing gaming headphones is that they should be surround sound and have a mic.

    [edit]
Forgot to mention if you get true surround sound headphones, (more than two speakers) you also need a sound card that supports it. Example would be the Creative X-Fi type cards.
    [/edit]
