    SLI vs Crossfire?

Ok im a fan of the radeon cards. I want to know what you think about SLI vs Crossfire. From what I read SLI is better now but Crossfire will surpass it soon.

Im not one of those people who only buys radeon products. Ive bought plenty of nevidia for my brothers computer (he somehow blows them monthly playing diablo 2). I just havnt had much luck with them.

Basically, yes. Nvidia had the first jump advantage over ATI, but now there are actually more products that are compatible with Crossfire.

SLI requires an nVidia nForce motherboard, while Crossfire can be used on both Intel and ATI chipsets. If you are a Core 2 Duo user, then the Intel chipsets perform best. If you are an AMD user, then I say go with the nForce board.

    Re: SLI vs Crossfire?

it merely just goes down to the battle of the cards. Nvidea simply has more to offer in all price ranges and performances. That may change in the future but for now Nvid is dominating. Sli takes the work and divides it equally while crossfire actually has one card do more work than the other. On the brightside crossfire doesnt require users to have the same exact card ( from what ive read) like nvid does. So take from it what you will but Sli is obviously better for the main reason right now that nvid is making better cards. And for the most part there isnt really a need for Sli or Crossfire at the moment so there are still a lot of bugs and fixes.

Well yea compatibility is different, but the technology it essentially is, is the same, right?

The cards basically communicate the same way.
