Re: Just a price test
The only benefit i found to purchasing from alienware is buying unique or prerelease parts,
buying a midclass system is senseless, youll be ripped off tremendously. But if your looking to buy a top of the line pc, with parts that are not even released yet, alienware is the place to go.

I am not saying yours is bad, but there is a noticeable difference. Also you do not need nor would benefit from the DDR3 ram on your P35 MB, I would have recommended you just get the DDR2 @1066Mhz. Unless you wanted to get the memory now and upgrade your CPU later to the Penryn, but which still leaves the older chipset on your motherboard, again it is certainly NOT a bad board or chipset, but if you wanted to future proof your rig I would have just gotten an x38 chipset board now and a cheaper processor or if you didn't have a limit on funds; just have gotten the Intel QX9650 now.
As for the price comparison though, I would agree that it is not recommended to buy from any place if you can built it yourself.
