Re: Virus Scan
I use Avast. And you use way too many programs. If you exercise a little better care in what you open on a computer you don't need all that stuff. You shouldn't need more than Avast and Spybot S&D.
I haven't had a worm or problem with a virus in 2 years using just those 2.Rumble

Re: Virus Scan
Well as long as none of those are running in the back ground when not running, there is no problem with it. Which out of those, Avast and AVG should be the only ones. Cut both of those and get Avira

a single good anti-virus is what you need. The free Avira, AVG, and Avast are all very good. I personally use AVG. Unfortunately, the spyware removal often requires more than one package. I like to use Spybot: Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, and Windows Defender (Yes I know its M$, but they bought the tech, they did not develop it.) I also like to use Zone Alarm's free firewall because it will tell you what background software is trying to reach out and touch someone. Finally, I will use HijackThis to get rid of the really pesky stuff. HijackThis is like msconfig on 'roids. Be very careful with it though. It is a powerful tool and if you use it wrongly, you can jack up your windows load pretty good.

Re: Virus Scan
I personally would use Symantec AV only because I have a lifetime copy thanks to my former occupation. But I dont even use AV. I have gotten a virus ONCE; and it was intentional because I needed to help someone else remove it so I wanted to see how it worked. Surf smart!
