Re: Windows vista home
Nope, same shit happened again tonight! Went through two or so map loads and the third got me. I dont know what the deal is. Didnt have a mem prob this time or at least it didnt give me one, just wants to close the program and or check windows to see what problem is. When i check to see what the problem is, it freezes up on me.

Hmm, I don't have any problems running 2142 with Vista anymore, I got some errors before but they were PB issues that were easy to fix. Also if you haven't already tried it, make sure the bf2142.exe file is set to run as administrator.
I've never had to install the patch either that Wileecyte posted about, so not sure what the deal is there. The only thing I can think of is some sort of compatibility issues with the hardware and Vista.
Also, if you are still having problems with your DVD drive not recognizing the DVD when it is in there and launching the game, you might need to update the firmware for it as I've had to do that as well to get it to work before.

I had fewer problems with 2142, but got memory.dll crashes during map loads. It really helped with BF2 quite a bit. I was crashing every other round (during map load) in BF2. Currently, though, I haven't had any issues with any of the games I'm currently playing in ages.
