We are just using the 8800 as an example. The entire 8 series Nvidia chipset lineup is DX10 compatible hardware. Good point, thanks!

EDIT: Damn! This was post number 1000 for SoyDude! hell yeah! Time to get a life?

    Re: Directx 10

Here soy, ill give you a chance to make it 1001, does the demo bioshock have that option and i have crysis, where is that option? I have the 32 bit vista right now, does that matter? im getting the 64 bit tomorrow so 32 will be a thing of the past.

EDIT: Well soy logged off so can someone answere this question? Do you have to have 64 bit and where is the option in crysis for dx10?

    Re: Directx 10

BioShock was the first DX10 game to hit the market; I am assuming that due to being an early release and the fact that it only has a few DX10 features (mainly in certain lighting effects) is why there is a switch. I am guessing Crysis automatically does DX10 stuff if it is available.

All Vista OS, 32 bit or 64, are DX10.

if you read my post, I said the 8000 series which includes 8500, 8600, and 8800 cards. If you are using Vista, you already have DX10 since it shipped with that.

    Re: Directx 10

If i remember right crysis does not have a 'switch' it will only allow the highest levels of graphic options if are able to use DX10... Like 'very high' is only available to vista/dx10 capable users, everyone else only sees up to 'high' or something like that.

Check this crysis article out for more details and pictures!
