Re: Unlock bios to overclock?
You need to bump it up, test it - IE run something stressful like a looping 3dmark or some other processor stressing app - make sur it is stable. If it is bump it up some more.
Eventually you will reach a point where you cannot increase the speed and have it load and run the stability tests for extended periods. You know pretty much where your high end limit is and can dial down a bit from there and rerun the stability tests to be sure.
It can take awhile if your truely looking for the highest overclock you can get. If thats not your goal the AI overclock will work fine and will overclock the entire system (minus Graphics card) - I think I have the asus AI overclocking my system to 8% and have no stability issues.

Re: Unlock bios to overclock?
thanks for all the help guys. soy, i ended up not doing it manually and i used the AI thing and am leaving it at 20% which bumps me up to 2.88GHz.
i ran 3dmark06 on each stepping and here are the results.
originally, my score was 11158.
after 5% increase

Read up about clock frequencies, FSB's, DRAM Clock ratios, ram timings (all of them), the relationship between speed, voltage, temperature, cooling, and noise, differences in core versions, bios's.....you have a lot to learn.
and if you learn it now, you'll be better at this. Understand what overclocking is, and we can talk. Otherwise it's going to be basic question after basic question.

A couple of l4d2 questions, thinking of buying it.
Hellow all,
I am thinking of buying left 4 dead 2 for the pc. but i got a couple of questions. It would be very helpfull if anyone could answer these for me since i cant find the answers on the internet.
- Does left 4 dead 2 for pc has a lan mode where i can play co-op missions with my friends?
- does the internet-multiplayer has dedicated servers or does it only has a function like direct play. (i want to go to the servers where my friends are playing, is this possible?).
- last question: i got a intelcore 2 duo 2,53 ghz, 4gb ram and 1gb video card. How good wil it run?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings,
Bas Reijnders

In the game box it says the minumum requirements is 3.0GHz, Intel or AMD. 1GB RAM for XP and 2GB for Vista.
Actually I only have 2.66GHz IntelCore Duo and 1GBRAM and it works. I put it on minimum settings to run OK.
You can play the games with your friends in dedicated servers and in local servers (your internet connection is used as server). If you want to play a game your friend(s) is/are playing, he/she/they need to have a open slot for you to join. The best is just to create a new lobby and add all the friends in "Friends-Only MOde". After that, change to "Public" and people will join to fill the remaining seats.
