This. The rest of the campaigns are brilliantly designed as well.
Just another pretentious indie developer. Here's my game development blog.

Personally i think the 2 games are more equal to each other than most people think.

If anything L4D2 teaches you how to use better tactics. Why? Because i can use any L4D2 tactics in L4D1 and have no problems... But when using L4D1 tactics in L4D2 you can run into huge problems. And if you play both games enough both styles and tactics kind of become a blur and you end up having a style and tactic that works on both games just fine.

Conserving bullets is never a problem unless your team doesn't actually cover anyone. Wether its pistols, magnum or melee weapons its the same thing. Even in L4D2 i only use pistols unless my team can't cover me worth a penny.

And for me Blood Harvest and Death Toll are the best L4D1 campaigns... And Swamp Fever is the best campaign in both L4Ds.

Anyways... If i was the TC i would get L4D1. L4D1 and 2 are meant to be together. Great players still play L4d1 campaigns and VS.

And i always feel sorry for any player that has snubbed one game for the other... Its their loss:waves:

Tactically, it really depends on which level you are playing. I only play Expert. Also, it is near suicide to be caught in the open in L4D1, but not in L4D2 as you can kill with melee, so tactics are different.

In any case, thehOP wasnt asking for a comparison, he just wanted to know if the game was worth buying, and that is a big yes.

Hey, its near suicide on L4D2 expert to be caught in the wide open too.. Even with stinky melee weapons. Bottom line is, you shouldn't be hanging around in open areas when a horde comes.

But ya, the OP should by L4D1...
