I disagree.
Many people criticize the Jockey and charger for being inneffective, but like any special infected evar, you need to know how to play one properly. Obviously, Jockying someone without the use of a boomer is a bad idea.
The charger, in my opinion, is necessary in left 4 dead 2. Those indestructible, "Turbo teams" from the first game that you sit in packed groups and never leave each other's vicinity were nearly impossible to kill. With the charger, these groups have a weakness.
the jockey and charger both serve the purpose of making another previously overpowered aspect of survivor play obsolete. The charger makes it so that survival is a challenge for even closely compacted groups, and the Jockey stop speed runners in their tracks, and also becomes an amazing accessory to the, "Boomer confusion" attacks present amongst good teams.
Also, as for the, "Charger can't hit crap!" argument, the charger is to be treated like a shotgun, not an assault rifle. Don't try to play hunter and slam the enemies from afar, get close to them, THEN charge. When the talking ducks enslave us all, we will finally get our happy baskets of pudding.

I agree with Dan. I hate hearing people talk sauce about the jockey and charger.
Especially in games where I watch players make a HUGE mistake and then say "Chargers suck.. Or jockeys Suck". Even more so when the both complain at the same time.
They could have worked to together and have the Charger charge the Jockey'd victim instead of working against each other and missing/messing things up. Chargers don't have to go 1st and jockeys don't have to go last, it actually works better the other way around.!!!WiCkEd VOooOdooooO TerRrroRR!!!

Heres hoping the following things are finally fixed in the Xbox version when the new DLC comes out:
- Team versus added to the game, like it was for the PC version 7 months ago.
- Remove the freezer door on DA2 like it was on the PC version 1 year ago.
- Fix "creepy crawling/crab walking" SIs.
- Fix survivors begin able to fall long distances without taking fall damage.
- Fix multiple spots where the survivors can stand in the ending safe rooms not allowing the round to ever end.
- Fix SI ghosts from blocking boomer bile.
- Fix the multiple exploits dealing with the witch
- Fix players begin able to "steal" the tank.
- Fix 3rd tank never spawning sometimes when the rescue arrives on finales.
- Fix uneven tank spawns between teams (meaning one team gets the tank very early in the map in an easy location while the second team has to fight him in a harder location near the end of the map).
- Fix tank's rage meter not begin refilled when he hits a survivor with a punt-able object.
- Fix tank's rage meter when second team camps the starting safe room (meter never goes down).
- Fix "crab walking" survivors.
- Fix infected begin able to spawn inside of survivors.
There are probably more bugs that I've forgotten about but you get the idea. We're long overdue for a patch on the Xbox and I really hope it comes with the new DLC.

Eylof, that is a good list and I agree with you.
And as for the rest yall defending the jockey and the charger, ok, I get your point. They are vital to the game and breack up solid teams and are very useful when used properly.
The fact is that they are almost never used properly, but that can also be said about alot of other SI when players are playing them.
By themselves I think they are kind of stupid, but changes to the way they act and so thing would make them better for future play. This is of course my own opinion though.

I have not tried 'The Passing' for Left4Dead 2, but I have tried Crash Course for L4D. I have to say, if the future DLC is as bad as crash course, it won't be going anywhere near my Xbox. I mean, for christ sake, half of CC's achievements are still bugged out!

The Passing is 20x better than Crash Course.
And I don't get y'alls logic on Microsoft being behind Valve deciding to make Left 4 Dead 2, Microsoft has no influential pull over Valve, sure they make them charge for DLC, but being Valve, I can overlook this.
In conclusion, you're using Microsoft as a scapegoat for Valve's faults.
