Now you mention that you can OC a Q6600 to stock timing for E6850 of 3GHz. So what? do you neglect to notice that the duo is OC'able as well? For example, HeavyG has his at 3.8+GHz and there aint no way you are getting your Q6600 up there.

Here's a thread debating the same thing on HardForum. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1259665 You'll see that different people have different opinions on this topic.

Re: Quad or not to Quad
i totally agree that the quad will eventually be better but as of now the dual scoreboards the quad on almost all games...for my needs, dual at 3.6 is better than a quad at 3.0. my next build will most definitely be a quad. hell, i bought a quad this time but exchanged it...i love the quad!

Re: Quad or not to Quad
I don't own a Quad Core at the moment either. Maybe in the future when it's more utilized. I was going to buy a Q6600 when I did my new build just to kinda futureproof my system but I couldn't pass up on this E6550 for $125.00 shipped. I figured at that price I could upgrade to a quad when it's more necessary.
