COMPAL HEL 80 help

I was just wondering if anybody had some tips on how I can tweak my machine to run a little bit faster.... I know I am limited with what I have but you never know. Keep in mind, this is a laptop, a HEL80 build.

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T7200 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive: 100GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600
Monitor: Default Monitor
Sound Card:Realtek HD Audio output
OS: Windows XP Professional 06

Some things I've done:
- I've tweaked Windows. Running it in classic mode so it takes less processing speed to get around.
- Built a laptop mount. Equip with 3 fans to lower heat.
- Overclocked my GPU. This seems to dramatically increase the heat, and I have actually had my system crash because I overclocked too hard.
- Set almost every setting on my GPU to increase performance.

Question: I've heard time and time again, DO NOT OVERCLOCK Your CPU! Specially on a laptop.... Needless to say, I know this would boost performance dramatically. But the amount of heat generated could send this thing to its grave... Any Ideas

And if I decide to Overclock my CPU, anyone know of any programs that work well? I am BIOS illiterate. So I think an actual program would be the best bet for me.

I did some research on your laptop and it's GPU is an embedded solution so you cannot upgrade it; you are stuck with the 7600 go. Apparently Compal underclocked this GPU due to heat issues so it is not even running at it's full potential.

I am afraid there is little you can do besides what you have already done. I do not recommend overclocking anything in this laptop.

The solution is to buy a bigger computer.

Wow, I ran across this thread and forgot I made it. Thanks for the tips soy, but Im afraid this is the first time I've seen them since my original post. I do now currently overclock my GPU. I had to get CoolBits, witch allowed the overclocking feature to be viewable and changed. Yea the fucker gets real hot but, I also have 5 led fans cooling it down when need be. It has run like a champ for me for 2 years now, But your right... I think its time for something bigger.

It'll center around just before the events of Crash Bandicoot 1 where the brain draining machine fails and Cortex and Brio need time to fix it. So they put the 5 mutants (Crash, Tawna, Pinstripe, Ripper Roo and Koala Kong) in a daycare owned by Doctor Doofenshmirtz (yes, the guy off Perry the Plataypus, but he's a goodie)
This is non canon BTW (obviously)
Characters:
Crash: Main hero. Doesn't speak much at all. There's a Playstation at the daycare so he's on that most of the time.
Tawna: She acts like she isn't impressed by most of the males except Crash. All the characters (apart from Doofenshmirtz) try to show off in front of her. She also the only one that really talks to Doofenshmirtz.
Dr Doofenshmirtz: He is a main antagonist in Phineas and Ferb but actually runs the daycare. He is nice but knows how to punish the animals when done wrong.
Pinstripe: Likes to show off, especially infront of Tawna. He has his Thompson most of the time and will threaten people that annoy him with it. He sometimes bullies Crash and rarely Ripper Roo.
Ripper Roo: There's 2 possible ways we could go with this character. Either a Pyro like character but with the "mpfthhs!" replaced with laughter. Or an insane Adrian Mole character where he is known for his split personality. One moment an intellectual, the next moment bonkers.
Koala Kong: Stupid but makes up for the brawn department. Likes to show off and is usually Pinstripe's lackey.

I won't put the first bit up yet (need some time) But what do you think about the series and what Ripper Roo's personality should be? I prefer the latter one (even if he went to collage in the second one, he's still rather clever)
