How To Overclock Your Video Card

I noticed some guys were interested (on css server) in overclocking their card so here is the link I used and I used Rivatuner to perform the OC.
    http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...id=1803&page=1
this link includes both intel and ati.

    link to rivatuner http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?page=rivatuner&menu=8

oh and check newegg(reviews and manufacturers specs) and http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/ (nvidia) / http://www.overclock.net/ati/ (ati) for what sort of aftermarket coolers you can put on these things. I spent 20 bucks on a zalman vga cooler that comes with vga ramsinks and slapped that all on with some as5 (as thermal adhesive for the sinks, or you can use thermal tape if you dont wanna void warranty) and now i cannot get this card hot (relative), im talking i havent seen 60C yet and it used to run low 80's Celcius.

Now if you dont have the loot for the cooler just use rivatuner and you can change the fan speed. mine was set at 30% of maximum and upping this will help you. also, it is best to reseat the stock cooler with as5 as this can knock off 10C for ya.

all of this stuff is really easy to do if you know how to read. have fun.

Your 3dmark stats link does not work so we dont know what kind of vid card you have.

I say the only reason you should OC is for benchmarking. The reason I sy this is because that with OC you will not be ablt to tell the difference in game. On the other hand in bechmarking its all about the numbers and there is were you will find difference.

Find a fan tool knock it up to 90% then increase your speeds slowly to see how far you can push it ahile staying stable.

On the newer cards there is a safety feature that if the card get to hot or is over worked it will default then reset.

Good luck and make sure to post your gains.
