Gaming
The impact to your gaming experience using the Killer NIC definitely lies with the specific usage of it. While there have been a lot of statistics quoted about Counter Strike, I find it hard to argue that the Killer NIC delivers much real value if any when it comes to the elevation of CS gameplay. Maybe as we saw with FEAR, if you are an expert at it, you might be able to pull a bit more value from it, but it does not seem that even the more skilled players are going to easily see the Killer NIC make their game better.
Conversely we saw where World of Warcraft players saw very discernible differences that positively impacted their gaming. Our play testing with Thomas and his level 60 character was quite eye opening. He saw real and attributable values associated with the Killer NIC when playing WoW. I would guess that the Killer NIC would likely have impact in other MMPOGs as well. Given that some WoW players spend huge amounts of time inside of the WoW universe, having overall smoother gameplay and actual move and attacking advantages given through the use of the Killer NIC will likely be a no-brainer for many. Even looking at the game as a third party simply observing showed that the game was smoother and more fluid and certainly made it more playable.
So on the gaming front, from a real world standpoint, we have seen the Killer NIC deliver nothing, and we have seen it deliver great things. I think those of you interested in the Killer NIC owe it to yourself to get active in online communities where you can ask some questions of people that already own one that play the specific game you are interested in. I wish we had a better black and white answer for you, but I don't think a simple answer is going to exist with this product.

Re: Killer gaming network card?
doubt it, 30 seems like a lot. Maybe if your near or over 200.
It cant remove the distance and the in between nonsense, mostly it removes the delay from your CPU doing work and smooths out your ping.
If your interested and can afford it why not, it cant hurt, I figure that I will get one one day, the 2-300 dollar price tag is what keeps me from it though.

Re: Killer gaming network card?
I want one just because it's basically a Linux based PC on a card. Get the model with the SDK (and the neato heatsink you could stab someone with) and maybe tinker around with having it perform other tasks. useful? meh... a little if you dont already have a good NIC. Novel? Quite so and maybe fun for those with some skills...

Round based scoring option?
I was just thinking it might be cool to have the option of scoring each chapter separately. What I mean is that the winner of each chapter would get 1 point, and overall scoring would only count in the event of a tie. They could also end the match, if one team wins more then half of the chapters.
I don't really see organized teams playing this way, because it's less representative of overall skill. However, I think the OPTION would be useful in keeping pub games close and that might prevent SOME raging quitting.
ok...so maybe you can't stop rage quitters but I still think it would be an effective way to keep pub games close, and therefore, more fun.
Thoughts?
