    Re: Display memory

    system requirements are:

Video Card: 128MB DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. (AGP and PCIe only)

Does the graphics card have that much memory? If not your going to have a tough time getting it to run if you can at all.

    Re: Display memory

A general rule to follow in regards to requirements stated by game developer. Try to have double.

BF2142 runs obviously well with medium range graphics card with 256MB of Dedicated Graphics card memory and most laptop share their graphics card memory from the main System Memory (RAM).

    Re: Display memory

Essentially, there are two factors to consider looking at whether a laptop can run the game: how fast the card is, and how new. Very old cards (pre- nVidia Go 6x00 line) may not have the required Pixel Shader Model 2.0 standard, and very low-end integrated cards (like the ATI/AMD X2x00 series, which is really popular in laptops now) won't be fast enough or have enough video memory to play the game at any decent framerate.

That said, what are the specs?

    Re: Display memory

If the display memory is too low, chances are that laptop wont even dream of running something like BF2142.

Post the specs though so we know what we are dealing with for sure. There may be a work around.

    Re: Display memory

It's probably shared memory to boot. What's the laptop?
