02-02-08, 02:07 PM #1On board audio causing BSOD, please help.
I am home, and wanted to take advanteage of my gaming machine while I can. i am still getting the BSOD while playing BF2. I have narrowed the problem down to my Realtek onboard audio. I have the latest drivers, but now help. What info do you need to help me out? Thanks in advance.

Is it only happening when playing BF2 or does it happen when running other games/applications?
Are you running multiple applications at once (winamp, media player, xfire, etc.)?
How long do you get to play before you get the BSOD?
How long have you had this motherboard?
If you have an older board, it might be going out, but I wouldn't think it'd cause your whole computer to crash. However, since it is intergrated to the board, it is possible and could mean that something bigger is about to go as well. This is almost a worse case situation though, so let's see if we can narrow it down to something else.

Ahhh.. BF2 and onboard audio...
Try playing on different sound quality settings. Many people have found that playing on medium or lower can stop some sound related crashes. Also, try software rendering mode. Your onboard audio is far too shoddy to do the rendering itself.
You have 2Gb RAM and windows XP if I remember right, right?
I looked at your 3dmark results, and noted it says your system memory is 1024 even though you have 2x1024 DIMMs installed... Hmmm... you got them in the right slots there?
