Thread: Verizon VS att

Well i have ATT and its fine and all but i average 83$ a month for service. that not bad you might think but that is just for me to use internet. they make me have a phone line i dont use( i used it once cause they cut off my cell, so i had to buy a land line phone just to call customer service, they ended up owning me 150$) long distance and local service. the internet is 39.99 a month.


ATT
PROS: GREAT ping to ttp
CONS: 40$ extra fee
CONS: 6MBPS/500KBPS
CONS: continuing bad customer service
CONS: really use GTE but att bills me?

Verizon, i looked at there site and they have FiOS, and great speeds.
57.99=15mbps/2mbps
69.9915mbps/15mbps
PROS: speed

PROS: cool new wireless multimedia router

CONS: never had

well basicly i was asking if anyone has FiOS and if that sounds good.. i have never had speeds that high and wanted to know some input.. will i ever need 15mps other than to send large files on the ineternet, never done.

I have flipped flopped between the two over the years and the best provider would be both combined into one phone from a reception standpoint. As far as customer service they both suck ass just like most other large companies.

Right now here in Florida Verizon has a deal where if you get everything FIOS . ( tv,phone,internet ) they give you a FREE high def tv to watch all the HD channels they offer...

I would go with the FIOS... I live in a shitty small town in Florida and we cant get it here.. Im stuck on DSL.

Ill end this easily.

heh, man I'm jealous of you bastards where you actually have FiOS as an option. Verizon doesn't even exist up here outside of the cell phone market, and your broadband option is Comcast unless AT&T decided to be nice enough to put a CO near you. (Which they did, and we're on them cause frankly they're better than fuckin' Comcast!)

Having said that, "zomg bandwidth" always wins. Go with Verizon. None of these companies can customer service their way out of a soaking wet paper bag. Asshats.

Yeah. Exactly. And the reason we dropped Comcast is cause we BOTH got tired of being treated like complete idiots on the phone when their service was constantly dropping connection. My fiance did tech support for 10 years and she's the pinnacle of patience and calm.... but lemme tell ya, Comcast knows how to push her over the edge. That was... loud and angry.

We're REAL lucky we're less than 3000 feet from the CO, now we have very stable 6.0/768 DSL for almost half the damn cost of Commiecast. Fuckers.

... watch, when we move in a few months we'll drop out of the DSL range again. *sigh*
