The problem I have with the rifle is people who do use it don't use it properly.
The rifle should not be used as a solid all-the-time choice gun. Why? Because it wasn't made for that. a rifle is meant for clearing out Common infected, without sitting there scoping for 10 minutes(I know people who do this). it also isn't meant for running up to things and shooting like a mad person(I also know people who do this). I know people who when moving consistently can shoot the zombies from a good distance. okay, thats fine, I can tolerate the rifle then. but only then. IF you have to scope to shoot almost every zombie you kill, then pick a different gun and practice with the rifle offline until your good enough to play with friends. we all have to start somewhere, but don't play every day for 2+ years and still be just as bad with the gun. :/

I prefer the AK-47 out of the automatics, and the combat shot gun(even though its worse. I call it the "Sexy shotgun" because it really is sexy)

Hmm, I'd still say the best is the Military sniper, but my favourite rifle is the SCAR, it's crazy good against SI and Tanks, imo better than the AK because it's far more accurate and has a far larger clip. M16 is poo

So yeah, I'll alternate between those, and melee usually for a secondary, an axe or machete.

EDIT: Actually I'd take a Grenade Launcher quite often if it pops up, nothing better for saving team mates from SI... which is what you spend most of your time doing in Pub games.
