Gamma adjustment in BF2
So I have been playing BF2 and SF with a new video card for the last few months, a Geforce 8600gt. It's an upgrade from my old Radeon x800gto. I've noticed that the maps, especially the SF maps, are alot darker in the shadowy areas and in hallways with low lighting.
Is there a way to raise the gamma in BF2? I do not see an option in the in game video settings so I tried to do it using Nvidia nTune. There is a section that you can adjust settings for specific games, but only the ability to turn things on and off or go low and high such as antiasailing, texture smoothing, that kind of stuff. The only option to adjust gamma adjusts it for the whole system, not just in games. It makes the desktop really bright. That's not what I want.
I'm guessing that since this card is so new and good, that maybe some of these fancy options for the card need to be adjusted. Like dynamic light and shadows. Right now BF2 is set to high on every option in game. I don't know what half this stuff does and quite frankly I don't feel like reading up on it at the moment. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Gamma adjustment in BF2
The reason corridors and places with low lighting are harder to see in now is because... they have lower lighting. If you're used to playing BF2 on lower settings, the game will seem darker because of the shadows and suchlike that show up with all of the settings maxxed out. There is an option in the BF2 video settings to turn up the gamma, but all of the advanced shadow effects will make things harder to see in-game, which is why a lot of power gamers turn all of the lighting effects to low so that they can see in to corners easier.
