of course. just like any motherboard, you have to make sure it has these features before you buy it....but clock ratios are adjustable. Have been since......my AMD mobile XP.

Its most likely your ram causing the instability.. Have you tried running a divider on your ram? If you have ddr800 which is really 400mhz ram , try running it at 333mhz.. That way it takes the ram out of the stability equation. And when you up your FSB your ram speed will follow back up to around 400mhz Also try loosening up your timings.
Did you give your north bridge any more voltage?

do you not read the posts above you before posting in a thread?
    just checking.

yep, and you can see that unlocked processors like the extremes are a grand and up. im not sure what bd is saying here about the ram but you can up your fsb and unlink the ram clocks and still use slower ram. my default settings on fsb:dram were 1:2 and after i unlinked them i ran it at 1:1 until i found a stable OC. then i pushed the ram clocks up slowly and tested for stability. i have had good luck with running my 800MHz ram (pc6400) @ 900MHz. so now my ratio is 8:9.
again, while i was in the OC process, I underclocked the ram (via the unlink feature in BIOS) and ran it at much less than the 800MHz, i.e. the ram was clocked anywhere from 600MHz-800MHz.
another thing you can do is loosen your ram timings while upping the fsb. this will help you to tell if its your cpu or ram that is causing the instability. for example, my ram is at 4-4-4-12 and i set it at 5-5-5-15 while doing the OC.

Voltage, voltage, voltage!!! Your voltage is waaaay too low for that high clock. Read some of these overclock examples:

    http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...2_5000/12.html

    http://techreport.com/articles.x/11473/4

Look at the voltage for this overclock. 1.472v is keeping it stable at this clock with the multiplier at 12.5x. You can get this overclock to work. Just make sure you can keep it cool. Monitor your temps very closely when you are at a full load.

    http://xtreview.com/review167.htm

This one has the multiplier at 11x and the fsb at 275MHz.

    You can do it!!!

Read up on my processor...Amd x2 64 5000+ BLACK EDITION. Its an unlocked multiplier processor.....so what does this mean for me.....i can OC the fuck out of it right before it hits too hot? btw what is too hot for a cpu??

cant say for sure as i dont have time too look it up. i know for my intel chip - conroe, its 72C. I would never like to approach this temp though. My full load has hit 63(after 13 hours of orthos small fft's)at its highest...depends on the ambient temp as im on air. you should be able to find the specs of your chip on the manufacturers website.

You know how I learned to type? I picked up this program in 6th grade.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing Official Site | Learn Typing - Keyboarding - Improve Your Typing Speed - Free Typing Games - Typing Lessons and Instruction - Best Typing Software

This was a year before we were required to take the typing class. Needless to say, that class was very boring for me.

    I will draw an analogy:

Most of you already know how to type without looking at your keys. However, you look at them as a crutch. If you were given a blank keyboard, I'm sure you could type coherently. Specifically, because your brain remembers the 'feeling' and passages much better than you think it does. You just aren't willing to trust your instincts.

The analogy? I use sheet music as a crutch. Normally at this level, I should be able to memorize a 6~10 page piece of music within 3 days. Do I ever memorize music? No. I hate memorization. I have only so much storage space in my head and currently it's all being used for math formulas and theorems. I prefer feeling. Could I play a piece of music without the sheets? Yes...just like you could type on a blank keyboard.
