wrong... alot of games take advantage of quad core cpu's
    Unreal 3
    Crysis
    Front Lines Fuel of War
    Supreme Commander
Age of Conan ( when it comes out )
    Not to mention Valve games..
And almost any new game coming out will use the extra cores.

I highly recommend going Intel over AMD currently as well. The E6750 or E6850 are great chips. The AMD Phenoms are standing up pretty well, but at their cost level you can get a Core 2 solution that really outperforms them. Plus should you ever feel like OCing the Core 2 is much more receptive to OCing.

I am an AMD fanboy, but the Core 2 is a better choice as far as bang for the buck right now.

Article is from 2006. I don't think with the speed differences between the cores and FSB we've seen any real benefit from quad core over dual core. I'm expecting to see them down the road but not right now, I'm sticking with nope. However, I'd love to see Age of Cohan benchmarks with Dual versus Quad (including price/performance indicators).

I'm looking for something more recent and with some of the games you've listed but I'm coming up short.

Here you go. However, the basic outcome is that even though quad/dual does make a difference, it doesn't seem to matter much since most games are GPU limited.
