Thread: Major TS/MIC issues

Okay I got on TS tonight for some training with no problems and then seconds later no one can hear me and I cannot hear them. Went into device manager and had the big yield sign on both my mic and my sound card. Mic is a logitech communication stx and the sound card is a Creative X-Fi extreme gamer. My first mistake, or so I believe was to reinstall the drivers for my sound card. Then I unistalled/reinstalled my drivers for the mic. Got back on TS and could hear people now, but my voice was very electronic and choppy. Went to my sound recorder to see what I was sounding like and it was very electronic and fast like I recorded at high speed.

Then I uninstalled the drivers for my sound card and reinstalled. Still can hear, but nothing helped the mic situation. So now I am pissed on top of being tired and I'm off to bed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thinking about trying a new mic. Maybe even unistalling my sound card and all it drivers and redoing. Anyway let me know. Thanks in advance.

Okay I got it figured out after multiple driver unistalls/reinstalls. I used system restore and went back to a point prior to the mess up and presto chango problem solved.

The X-Fi line has serious mic issues. It's a crapshoot getting it to work.
