    Re: technical problems

    1. Is the mic boost in Windows enabled?

Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices - Voice tab - Voice recording box, click Volume... - Options menu, Properties - Adjust volume for Recording, check that Microphone is shown, click OK) - Options menu again, click Advanced Controls, also check that Microphone is the selected input (check in the 'Select box')- Advanced button under Microphone - check boost box?

(Boy, they do not make it easy to get to that )

    2. Have you run the BF2 VOIP setup again?

Right click any shortcut to BF2 - Select Properties, then click the Find Target... button (huzzah, right to the base BF2 directory, who loves ya) - run the 'BF2VoipSetup' program and adjust the sliders as necessary.

    3. Force the option on in the config files?

If the previous two didn't solve the problem, prepare to delve into the profile configs.

Go to your My Documents folder (fastest way is Start - Run... - type in My Documents, hit Enter), and then navigate to:

Battlefield 2/Profiles/0001/ and open Audio.con with any text editor (wordpad works just fine).

*Assuming you only have one profile defined, there should be default and then 0001; if you have more than one, you'll have to figure out which one you're using. Don't modify the default profile, it won't do anything and might break other things that ought not be broken.*

Change the value of AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled to 1 and then save the file, close the text editor, and then check in BF2 if it has been enabled.

    Re: technical problems

    1. To change the program used to open the .con files ~

Right click the file and choose Open With... from the menu, then select wordpad from the list and make sure that "Always use this program to open this type of file" is checked. That will permanently change the file association to wordpad so that they are easier to open in future.

    2. To check which profile you're using ~

In the same directory as Audio.con there should also be a file called Profile.com (in each profile directory you have, 0001, 0002, and 0003) which lists the account name and email for the profile. Find which account you're having the problem on, and then open the respective Audio.con file.
