Help me find a picture on my computer...
So I got a fax emailed to me today, one of those scanned fax deals...
it opened in the Microsoft Image and Fax viewer and I clicked the print button...
up pops a menu with images with little check boxes. Click the check box next to the image file you want to print.
There are 4 total.
The fax I want to print.
A picture of some kind of internet button, like a go-button or something.
Some random header from some random webpage.
And picture of a girl slobbering on the knob of some random dude.
There is porn on my computer and I have no idea where the hell it is, nevermind where it came from.
I did a full search for all image files and can't find it anywhere.
Nowhere in the window that showed the picture did it show the extension of its location.
I dont think my company scans our comptuers for this kind of thing, but it being gone would OBVIOUSLY be in my best interest.
Anybody know where the default storage location is for files that would show up in this program?

Try Picasa http://picasa.google.com/ it should find and organize all the image files on your computer and make it pretty easy to go through them. A very useful tool.

Re: Help me find a picture on my computer...
Windows search *.jpg, all hidden options, etc. Sort results be "date accessed". It should be near the top. View as thumbnails to make it easier. The sooner you do this, the better (the closer it will remain to the top).
It may already be way below the top... but you can search for the specific time/date you saw it first.

Re: Help me find a picture on my computer...
I hate to bring added layers of complexity, but depending on how the image got there (delivered by some malicious app) it is quite possible that the file in question is not a .jpg at at but perhaps a .gif, .bmp, or a weblink to the image in which case there would be some reference to the image in an http://* key in the registry for the application. I recall some spyware/malware that used to use this method to display an image as your desktop wallpaper and the image itself was nowhere to be found on the computer. There was a registry setting for the desktop wallpaper that referenced link to image.
I know that does not help, but I just throw it out there as another avenue to look at if the search for the .jpg turns up empty.

Re: Help me find a picture on my computer...
I found it - I took the bold step of opening it and going to save-as and found what it was called.
It was called "04.jpg" and was a hidden file in a hidden folder of my temp internet files.
It's since been incinerated.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Help me find a picture on my computer...
I have had many clients ask me why when they click the arrow in Picture view when viewing an Email with attached pictures they get porn pictures and I have to explain for one stop looking at porn on your computer and when you click the arrow it goes to the next picture in your temporary internet files not the next picture in the attachment.

Mic not working in-game (L4D)
I've got a mic which works fine in other programmes (e.g. Steam voice chat, Left 4 Dead 2, etc) but in-game in L4D1 it does not transmit. I have tried with open microphone and with press to send holding the "C" button to talk. I do not get a talking symbol and no sound is transmitted. Volume and sensitivity levels are up and all settings look fine.
Any ideas how to make mic work in L4D1?
