    the pic I put in our ATI-tool download is of me, after warming it up, stopping and starting the 3dCube.

    I'm at my max, which I guess is the mid 40's. No way a fan can do that.

    What is your fan speed at rock? and what video card is this? .... use rivatuner or ntune to turn your fan up on the video card... Its probably at 29% .. crank that sucker up to 100% ... My 8800GT idles at 45.. 65 load with the stock cooler ..and that is over clocked pretty heavily

    I tried messing with ntune earlier but didnt find anything having to do with a fan. I have the 8800gts with 640 ram...

    I left the gpu fan running at 90% idle for 10 min.

    Then ran the cube for 1 min this is what happened

    Just for reference my 8800 GTS 640s never break 60 degrees and hang out around 56. 70 seems a little warm for my tastes; warm, but not dangerous.

    yup.
    I once set the fan to turn on 80% when it reached 70 degrees and you could actually see the frames jump up a little.
    Heat kills performance get you a card with a good fan on it.
