8800 GT SC vs 9600 GT SSC?

Either way, the 9600 is faster than the 3850 at the same price point and as fast as the 3870 for far less.

And the image quality is pretty much exactly the same between the 2 GPU makers so thats hardly a factor.

EDIT - as I looked and the 9600 is as fast as the 3870...

I just installed the 8800 GT last night and played some TF2. With everything on high and 1024 res. I was getting an avg. of 70-80 fps. Super nice card for around 250 bucks.

I am sure and 8800 will have no lag.

Like many have said there is no real difference perfomance wise.

When it come to quality I have seen in fron of me with my own eyes that the 3870 has better image quality than the 8800ultra. We had a lan at the house and we had a chance to compare games.

When you turn everything on high in a Source based game ATI makes the images look so sharp and clear it will blow your mind.

I am not bashing on Nvidia or people that have 8800 cards. I would suggest the hell out of them but just not on source games.
