well i know that plasma tvs have some glare issues if your in a bright room... and that can be damn annoying when your trying to dish out some ownage (if you hook your PC up to your TV that is)

Another inexpensive way to calibrate your tv is using any THX certified DVD. I used the Finding Nemo DVD to calibrate my Toshiba 42hl64 LCD. Just pop in the disc and go to the setup menu. Then run the THX optimization wizard.

Yeah... BluRay and a new HDMI switching receiver are on my wish list to complete my home theater. Sony claims $200 BluRay players are on the way... available NEXT YEAR sometime. I may just spring for a PS3, since at least I get the BluRay functionality and the side benefit of the console itself for not much more than a standalone BluRay player.

Was reading an article recently where they stated that the PS3 may be the most 'future proof' BluRay solution currently on the market because it will be able to comply with the BluRay 1.2 standard which requires network connectivity for the device so that 'bonus features' can be downloaded online.

Found the Avical starter settings and I'll tweak from there using THX and DVE.
