I was basically saying that if the cas settings are different, some bios will set it to a lower clock speed. Kind of a default, "heh, this isn't the exact same ram type in both slots type thing".

And, for whatever reason, it's recognizing both as DDR400s, but still clocking it at 333...

I'm going to try the BIOs thing, see if that works.

Edit: That did it, now it's showing up at DDR400! Thanks guys!
I had the Asus A8N-SLI premium for awhile... there is a bug!

It will only correctly auto-detect the SPD of the RAM with A SINGLE stick in. Do that, get those numbers, plug in all your sticks, then manually enter those numbers you got from the single stick.

So... It should be okay now that I changed the clock speed to 400? Or are some of the other things on that page also screwed up by this bug?

If you manually set it to 400 then your good to go.

Well there are settings that are specific to the memory, thats why I said record the numbers with a SINGLE stick. you will have a series of settings like CAS Latency, TRCD, TRP, etc. Dont worry about what they mean, just make sure you enter them. Chances are just changing the 333 to 400 is fine because the other settings defaulted to lowest. But if you get the right numbers entered, you will have better memory performance.

Rather than inserting 1 stick and recording it's timings you could also get the specifications for your RAM from the manufacturers website and use that.

    Good luck!
