Laptop Question

Whats up long time no type. Been busy with the Fire dept and now starting the police acadamy. But I want some opinions on a laptop. Went looking on fleabay and found this you peeps with the smarts let me know whether its worth it or not. Auction id is 350030279052 .

I dont know all that much about gaming laptops, but I have helped a few people configure systems very similar (8600M, ~2.0ghz Core 2) to this for around the same price. It will play most games out there just fine. Crysis might be playable at it's lower settings. Not bad for a laptop if you want to game...

But there might be other gaming laptop users out there with more input; I use my laptop for work and school only.

I just ordered this laptop, Got it for $1,150 @ Bestbuy. Even at the non-discounted price, its a kickass deal.

Ordered it at bestbuy a week ago, looked at the specs and the price, and instantly knew that i wanted it. Plus it takes the new T7*** series of intel mobil proc, so in about a month or two when they drop down in price toss a faster proc in.

This is probably your best bet, it's a fantastic coupon and I'm currently BEGGING my fiance to let me get one. (Although I'm looking at the dv2700t Special Edition laptop, as I want something more portable than a 17" laptop.

Okay, so this actually reminds me... I saw this same laptop too, and my reaction was "those specs... for HOW much?" Does anybody know if Gateway's a good brand nowadays? I vaguely recall them being hit-or-miss awhile ago, and I definitely know nothing about their laptops. Are they building their own, or is somebody doing the manufacturing for them?

Yeah, I did not know Gateway is still producing machines, let alone a laptop. have never heard of a Gateway laptop before. Their desktops were VERY inexpensive and equivocally glitchy (in my experience). So if you opt for one of these guys get the best warranty they offer. But with those specs, this laptop should game with the best of them.
