Re: HELP needed
Ahh..I again did not read the whole statement before agreeing
I go to "microsoft security center" and disable "User Account Control." Also known as UAC.
Cant find it? go to your Help (hit F1!) and search for "user Account Control" and siable the thing.
Again disabling UAC is critical to enjoying Vista, It wont bug you as much about authorization AND certain programs just wont launch with UAC enabled.

Better yet, use Tweak UAC. You can turn UAC into Silent mode instead of disabling it totally. There's a good article (The first article, in fact) on their site about the difference of Silent Mode vs Disabled.
http://www.tweak-uac.com/
The single biggest benefit is that in Silent Mode, Internet Explorer (and any other browser) will continue to run in non-privileged mode.

That will help identify if it is functioning as expected.

Okay... I put the new card in...
On the installable 3dMark06 version I got 8410. on the web based version, I got 9500. Although those are great numbers, I still feel something is choked.
To recap:
XP 64bit
amd phenom 9500
9600GT 512 OC
and the other required stuff...
How can I tell if my MOBO is jacked? it's an MSI

Re: HELP needed
I did a search for a system of the same design... there were none... i guess no one else was as stupid as me to put one of these contraptions together.
I'm checking with the manufacture to see it there is a way to check for configuration issues.
i've updated the bios.. vista 64.. xp 64.. new card... When I run bf2 on high, i get really crappy frame rates. this thing should be screaming...
I may drop down to 2 gb ram and go with XP 32bit...at least the ram chips will make good decorations for my desk.
the saga continues........

I'm getting tired of watching the videos that 3dMark goes thru...
Why doesn't the dumbass driving the blimp get out of the gorge as soon as he sees the monster? He looks like a dribblecup.
