Problems
I built my current rig a little less than two years ago.
e6400
2GB RAM
X1900XTX
XP 32-bit
About 2 months ago I upgraded to a 8800GT and 4GB RAM. I made a thread about my RAM upgrade.
I did not have any problems at first.
Then, about a month ago, I reformatted my HDD just as a general spring cleaning since it had been over a year since I had done that.
In the past week, I've been getting BSOD's while gaming (rarely, and they flash up for less than a second to immediate reboot so I can't read them), and also getting popup messages at random "The instruction at 'hex address' referenced memory @ hex address. The memory could not be 'read'." I also get this popup message when I go to shut down Windows, along with Windows being unable to shut down most of my running processes, and "end now" warnings popping up like crazy.
So after a few days of this I removed the new 2GB of RAM and am back to my original 2GB. As of last night I was still experiencing the popup messages (no BSOD's yet but those were rare anyway), so I just ran MemTest 86+ for 8+ hours (on the original 2GB only) and received no errors.
Any ideas?
I also recently replaced my NVIDIA drivers (for my 8800GT) with EVGA's drivers which don't pass the Windows logo test. I did this in an attempt to fix a really annoying bug with dual monitors and nview which makes video washed out on one screen. It wasn't successful, so I guess I could go back to the official NVIDIA drivers, but I'd be surprised if EVGA was causing these problems. I'm not sure if the problems started before or after the driver update.

Re: Problems
Glad you got your problem fixed. One word of advice. If you go to:
My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Startup and Recovery settings
uncheck the box that says Automatically restart. Also make sure you have the Write an event to the system log box checked.
This will make it much easier to troubleshoot bluescreens. Not much easier since the data is still basically useless, but at least you get a chance to see it in case it does have a driver name etc. in it. Why they even have the option to automatically restart I have no idea.
