Vista settings...?!?
Everytime I click on a program to start it, I get this stupid fucking message telling me...
"A program needs your permission to continue."
and...
"User account control helps stop unauthorized changes to your computer."
Now, I am really sick and fucking tired of this happening. By God, if I click on the program to start it then, by God, that means it has my fucking permission. I went to User Controls, and could not find any way to stop those retarded messages. How the hell do I turn that crap off??

Re: Vista settings...?!?
Go to your help and type "user account control." When you find it, DISABLE it! Disable UAC...
there has been debate coming from Wile about setting it to silently accept everything versus shutting it down. I am currently just disabling UAC, but as I research his arguments I am about to become in favor of tweaking it instead. I will make a separate post about that.
For now, just disable it or read his information here: http://www.texasteamplayers.com/inde...9598#msg409598
But in the end, the thing asking you to confirm EVERYTHING under the sun is Vista's UAC, and you need to disable it or tweak it.

Re: Vista settings...?!?
Yeah, the UAC is the first thing I turned off after I installed Vista. There's a good FAQ here: http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm

Re: Vista settings...?!?
Ok, well, I give, how do I do that, I couldn't find anything that said Disable User Account Control. And when I type in User Account Control, it brings something up in the list, that I can click on, but when I do, nothing happens. Why the fuck couldn't they just leave shit the way it was, it worked fine. Why do they always have to tailor shit so people can't use it, and find that they dont want to use it because now they have to learn everything all over again. It wasn't fucking broke before, why did they find the need to fix it when it was fucking broke??

Re: Vista settings...?!?
in vista:
"start menu" --> "user accounts" --> "turn user account control on or off" --> unselect the box labeled "Use User Account Control to help protect your computer." click "ok" you should have it disabled and I think you will need to reboot.

i hate newb intro threads
but whatever. hey, whats up? i play on live almost everynight. i'm decent, seems like some nights i'm on a roll and feel unstoppable and other nights i just can't stop failing and making noob mistakes. but anyway, i'm just playing for fun, would be down with playing with others who don't rage or take the game so seriously or bash team mates that fuck up. just LOL and move on, yknow? i play everything, campaign, survival, vs, scavenge.... just depends on my mood. guess i'll have a look around the forums. laterrrr.

Hello and welcome!
I know exactly what you mean about having good days and bad days: this morning I got kicked for not realising a guy was pinned behind me (I facepalmed hard when I realised). Most of the people round here are pretty nice and relaxed though.
Do you have both games? Feel free to add me if you're looking for people to play with, but I only play the first L4D.RIP Mike Starr
